Thank you for trying this early
About Right is out now for everyone - no more joining link needed. Here is the real one.
Get it on Google Play →If it is already installed from the early group, there is nothing to do - it updates the normal way from here on.
Worth five minutes How About Right works Every screen, what it covers, and what to expect. Open the guide →What a day looks like
Twelve questions, about ten minutes, and the whole shape of the day is on the first screen so the end is always in sight. Words first, then two easy ones, then the day's new skill, then something from a while back.
The questions are about real things: shelf labels, change from a note, a bank statement, whether a bill is bigger than last month.
What you will not find
- No timers and no countdowns.
- No scores, no leaderboards, nobody to be compared with.
- No streak to lose and no progress that can be taken away.
- No adverts and nothing to buy.
Getting one wrong is quiet — no buzzer, no red flash. I’m not sure is a button on every question and is never counted against anyone.
The grown-up page
At the bottom of the first screen. It is a minute a week and shows two numbers side by side: how much is coming out right now, and how much is still there weeks later. They are never averaged, because the gap between them is the thing worth knowing.
Your child's privacy
Nothing leaves the phone. There is no account, no sign-in and no adverts, and a full day works with the phone in aeroplane mode — worth trying once, because it is the sort of claim that should be checked rather than believed.
Everything can be exported or deleted from inside the app, and uninstalling takes it all with it. The full policy is short.
What is useful to tell me
- Anything that reads oddly — a question that is confusing, a word that is wrong, a price that nobody would ever pay.
- Anything that repeats too much.
- Where your child got stuck, and whether it was the maths or the wording.
- Anything that broke, obviously.
A sentence is plenty. “Question about the bus fare made no sense” is more useful than a long report.
Before you hand the phone over
The guide walks through every screen with a picture of each: what a day is made of, what the three buttons on a question do, what the settings change, and what the grown-up page is telling you.
